Heat rugby key part of 80 Minutes Fund-Raiser 2018

Saturday is for rugby but for one special Sunday in September rugby was also in spirit. The Heat men's and women's rugby teams joined the rest of the rugby community from Elementary-aged rugby players to over-40 players and officials, they all came together to for a cause.

The effort by the rugby community in support of local cancer services at the Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Center raised over $14,000.

Tabbed 'The 80-minutes fundraiser', the idea was to collect pledges, and walk or run on the Apple Bowl track for the duration of an adult rugby XVs game - 80 minutes.

The Heat were well represented at the event and were the largest team participating in the event with 26 players out walking on the Sunday at the Apple Bowl.
