CHILLIWACK, B.C. - The UBC Okanagan men's and women's golf teams fell 16-12 to the hosting UFV Cascades in a match-play event at Chilliwack Golf Club earlier this week.
The Ryder Cup-style tournament consisted of fourball, alternate shot, and single matches, as the Heat teams were led by Justin Towill (Kelowna, B.C.), Adrian Murray (Delta, B.C.), and Bess Chan (Hong Kong) who all went undefeated in their matches.
The Heat and Cascades were deadlocked at three-and-a-half points apiece after Day 1's fourball matches, but UFV were able to grab a two-point lead after the second day, winning the alternate shot battle 4.5-2.5. On Day 3, which featured the single matches, the Cascade men came out on top 4.5-2.5 over the Heat, while the UBCO women tied their half of the draw.
