KELOWNA, B.C. – The UBC Okanagan department of athletics and recreation announced on Tuesday that five Heat basketball games have been rescheduled to the month of February.

The schedule for the men's basketball team is the most impacted as four home dates now have a new spot on the calendar while the women's team has one game impacted by the change.

The Heat men's team will now kick off the month against the UFV Cascades on Saturday, February 5 and Sunday, February 6 at 12 p.m. on both days. The matchup, which was originally scheduled for January 8 and 9, will now be the beginning of a five-game home stand for the blue and gold.

The following weekend, the men's team will now take on the UNBC Timberwolves on Saturday, February 12 at 2 p.m., moving up the game by one day from the original date of Sunday, February 13. The change was made following the rescheduling of the women's game against UNBC to this past weekend.

Finally, the Heat men's and women's teams will now face their sister-school rivals, the UBC Thunderbirds, on Saturday, February 19, a make-up date from their games that were postponed on Thursday, January 13. The women will tip off at 1 p.m. while the men's game will go at 3 p.m. Both teams will subsequently celebrate their graduating seniors as this date now marks the final regular season home game for both squads.
