Kelowna, BC - The top-ranked Heat women's golf team will be back at it this weekend when they travel to the Chilliwack Golf Club for the UFV Invitational. Following their win at the Okanagan Golf Club, the team moved up to number one in the newest CCAA National Rankings.
Womens travel team:
The same three ladies who have played the first two tournaments will travel to the lower mainland this weekend led by freshman Samantha Copeland who currently leads the female standings in the PacWest. She will be joined by two Kelowna products in third year student McKenna Lesiuk and rookie Rebecca Reitsma.
Calgary product Samantha Copeland has captured both individual titles to start her Heat career and will look to lock up some awards this weekend. Copeland currently has a five-shot lead over Alex Foston of VIU for top stop in the womens individual standings and if it stays this way following the tournament in Chilliwack, the rookie will lock up Player of the Year and All-Canadian status. Also in the hunt for individual awards is Rebecca Reitsma, who sits in third place individually after the first two tournaments and is just five shots back of second
