PREVIEW: Heat men look to capture first title of the season at the UFV Invitational

Kelowna, BC - Following a weekend off, the Heat men's golf team will return to the links this weekend when they travel to the Chilliwack Golf Club for the third PacWest tournament of the year at the UFV Invitational. The Heat are coming off back-to-back second play team finishes in the opening two tournaments and currently sit second in the latest CCAA Rankings.

Mens travel squad:

The mens team will take the same five players who have played the opening two tournaments of the season, led by rookie Marcus Apchin who captured the first tournament of the season at Quilchena. Veterans Oliver Rizun and Nik Federko will be joined by freshman Ethan Hunt from Kelowna and Naoki Takahashi from Japan.

All-Star watch:

With a change in format to the PacWest season this year, the conference all-stars are decided following the final tournament of the season before the newly instated conference championship. Rookie Marcus Apchin currently sits six shots back of individual leader Wyatt Brook of VIU with two rounds to play. Oliver Rizun currently sits in seventh spot in the individual standings with Ethan Hunt just a shot back in eighth.
